Michael J. Kelly & Son, Inc. began back in 1947 when Mike’s parents immigrated from Kent, England to reside in Wayne Pennsylvania.

Mike, Jr., began learning the trade at a very young age. He started running the business solely in 1990. In taking over he expanded the company beyond interior and exterior painting. His services also include many specialty fields such as faux finishes, wallcovering installation and removal, carpentry work, power washing, plastering and stucco repair to name a few.

Mike is the Mid-Atlantic region's representative/dealer for belbien™, a sophisticated surfacing product developed in Japan and introduced to the American market this past decade for interior & exterior facilities.

Mike has served as a president of the National Guild of Professional Paper hangers (NGPP) for two years and on its Board of Directors for 16 years. He’s also an active member of the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America.
 
His professional activities include the following:
 
Delaware County Chapter member of the NGPP since 1984
Co-Chairman with Izzy Dubin of NGPP Convention Committee 1985
Appointed NGPP Convention Chairman 1989 – 1993 under Lou Schiavo, National President
Delaware County Chapter Board Member from 1985 – 1993
Delaware County Chapter President from 1987 – 1991
Committee Chairman for our chapter workshop for 2 years
One of the three originators of the paperhanging training program at the Williamson Free School of Trade. Currently on Advisory Board
Current NGPP Certified Paperhanger and Certified belbien™ Installer
National NGPP Trustee for 4 years and have worked my way up through the chairs
First Vice President of the NGPP for 4 years
The 2000 Convention in Los Angeles was Mike's 16th consecutive convention
Mike recently published his second article for “ American Painting Contractor,” a monthly National Publication
